Monteigne Ray Mathison creates original paintings characterized by heavy textural color applied with pallet knife and brush using a wet in wet technique.
As a practicing artist and former art teacher, Monteigne's recent work is focused on expanding nonobjective exploration with primarily two mediums:
oil on canvas and paper
watercolor, gouache, ink and liquid gold leaf on paper.
Each work is an individual exploration of color, shape, line, texture, space, and contrast. This varied range of technique and size creates a unique collection where each work is one of a kind.
